From department students; It is required to successfully complete a 12-month approved practical training program, including six months (6 months) of open sea training on ships in accordance with an approved internship book and six months (6 months) of workshop skills development training in accordance with an approved internship book.

First Workshop Internship

Time: Between the end of the second semester and the beginning of the third semester

Prerequisite: Having received at least FF from the Workshop and Manufacturing Process course.

Allotted Time: Workplace approved, 3 months (90 days) or 75 working days on land, or 61 working days if successful in the “Workshop and Manufacturing Process” course.

Internship Place: Shipyards where work permits are given by the Administration or ships under maintenance in shipyards, workshop facilities belonging to Official or Private organizations included in the protocol list with PRU.

There must be at least one Marine Machinery Operations Engineer or Mechanical Engineer at the facility where the internship will take place.

The duration of the Workshop Skills Development training (internship) is 6 months, and every 25 days will be calculated as 1 month in on-shore internships.

Every 4 lesson hours spent in workshop training given by educational institutions within the course curriculum will be calculated as one working day and will be deducted from the 6-month workshop skills development training (internship).

Workshop skills development training; It will be carried out in accordance with the internship book, including at least welding, cold and hot forming, casting, machining, measuring, product assembly and construction, workshop operation and organization departments.

Second Workshop Internship

Time: Between the end of the fourth semester and the beginning of the fifth semester.

Prerequisite: Having received at least a “DD” grade from the Workshop and Manufacturing Process course and having completed the First Workshop Internship.

Time Allotted: Workplace approved, up to 3 months (90 days) or 75 business days onshore or 3 months (90 days) on board.

Internship Place: Ships with main engines larger than 750 kW, shipyards granted work permits by UAB or ships larger than 750 kW under maintenance in shipyards, workshop facilities belonging to Official or Private organizations included in the protocol list with PRU.

Students attending sea training can continue their Second Workshop Internship on the same or a different ship in accordance with the internship book, after 6 months of sea training. However, this period cannot exceed 3 months. Before starting the Offshore Internship, a separate application must be made for both internships and the student must take both internship notebooks with him. Following the end of the Açık Seniz Internship period, the Second Workshop Internship can be started. In this case, it should be noted that the Second Workshop Internship starts 1 day after the end of the Offshore Internship.

Offshore Internship

Time: Between the end of the fifth semester and the beginning of the seventh semester.

Prerequisite: At least 90 days first workshop internship, MRE111, MRE122, MRE212, MRE213, MRE214, MRE221, MRE223, MRE226, MRE227, MRE313, MRE315, MRE316, MRE317, STCW214, STCW215, STCW216, STCW217, S TCW218, STCW219, STCW312, Having received at least DD in STCW313 courses.

Internship Duration: 6 months.

Internship Location: Ships with main engines larger than 750 kW operating outside the port borders. Between their fourth and fifth semesters, students will complete short-term workshop internships. This internship can be done on the ship and at land facilities.
